Jon & Abbey's wedding

At the end of February we all traveled home to California for a few days to celebrate the wedding of our son Jonathon to Abigail (Abbey) Glauser. It was a fun, but short trip filled with lots of good times. Eddie, the girls and I flew in on the evening of the 25th from Texas. Isaac also flew in on the same day from Mazatlan, Mexico. Ricky and Tracy came in on the 26th from Green Bay. Grandma Sandy came from Carson City. Trish, Marcia, Simone, and Sophia all came from Orlando and dad came from Tucson. Of course we hung out at the Peake's and got to hear about Stephen's recent adventures with YWAM.

The Vargas family stayed at Jon and Abbey's studio apartment in Pacific Grove. We enjoyed being near the ocean and managed to make it down to the beach a few times. Pacific Grove is amazingly beautiful and Jon and Abbey have a great view from their 3rd floor apartment! (yes I got tons of exercise climbing up and down those stairs!!!)

The wedding was wonderful and happy and filled with lovely moments. We attended a reception at Embassy Suites and danced the night away after we ate a yummy dinner. Abbey's parents, Ted and Alicia, did a great job on the whole affair. It really was a beautiful day. It all ended too quickly. Jon and Abbey went on their honeymoon-a cruise in the caribbean....wow...lucky dogs!
After a quick visit to our home church, FPC, we flew back home to Texas. It was nice to be in Cali even if it was for a few days.

The adventure has begun!!!

Yes its true........the adventure has officially begun. We have been accepted as staff members at the YWAM base in Mazatlan, Mexico and we are beginning our journey on how to get there. Its hard to believe its been almost 5 years since we went to Monterrey, Mexico to attend a discipleship training school. A lot has changed in the last 5 years (not to mention the fact that we are 5 years older!). Check out our blog on Jon and Abbey's wedding and Isaac's adventures in North Africa.
We have enjoyed our last 22 months in Texas. It has been an adventure living in the south. God has blessed us with some awesome friends, a great church family, and some really fun memories-like the tornado alarm going off at 3am and "hanging out" in our walk in closet while we wait for the storm to pass.
So join us as we head south of the border.
